A new Insolvency Practice Direction has been approved by the Lord Chancellor and came into force on 25^th April 2018. The new practice direction makes reference to the Insolvency Rules 2016, whereas the previous version referred to the Insolvency Rules 1986. The new practice direction also reflects several recent decisions of the courts, changes occasioned by the Business and Property Courts Practice Direction and clarifies routes of appeal in insolvency matters.
